West Moberly First Nations is nestled above beautiful Moberly Lake, about 30 km north of Chetwnyd, BC. The Nation represents over 200 members on reserve. West Moberly is an hour drive NE from Ft St John, NE BC.

There are 35-40 homes on reserve with a population total of 350. Less than 200 people on-reserve and rest living in Chetwynd (potential for EM to work with off-reserve population). Potentially well-resourced as far as trades given its proximity to Chetwynd and Ft St John.

West Moberly First Nations owns and operates a 9-hole Moberly Lake Golf Course, as well as the Dunneza Lodge. West Moberly First Nations has engaged in a number of economic development agreements with the Province of British Columbia, covering forestry, long term oil and gas, wildlife management, and collaborative management of provincial parks. The West Moberly First Nation is actively involved in promoting positive, sustainable economic development that advances the interests of its membership. It negotiates directly with industry and government, as well as operates its own community-owned businesses. Energy, which represents a major economic expense of the Nation, has drawn great attention from within the community. Energy consumption and the concerns tied to it have a direct impact on the community financials, the community’s partnerships with its suppliers and most importantly, the health, safety, and overall quality of life of community members.
